The Convair XF-92A holds a unique place in aviation history as America’s first delta-wing jet aircraft. First flown in 1948, the XF-92A was an experimental platform that explored the radical delta wing configuration—an aerodynamic concept that would go on to shape generations of supersonic aircraft, from the F-102 and F-106 to the Concorde.

Tested extensively at Edwards Air Force Base, the aircraft was flown by elite pilots including Chuck Yeager, whose involvement in early high-speed flight research helped validate and refine the delta-wing design. Though never intended for production, the XF-92A’s legacy is foundational to modern high-speed aviation.

This large-scale model captures the aircraft’s futuristic geometry with striking presence. At 1:32 scale, the model measures approximately:

  • Length: ~12.5 inches (32 cm)

  • Wingspan: ~10 inches (25.5 cm)

The model is mounted on a display stand, presenting the aircraft in a dynamic flight posture that highlights its distinctive triangular wing and clean experimental lines.

The addition of Chuck Yeager’s signature elevates this piece from a finely crafted model to a powerful historical artifact—linking directly to one of the most important figures in aerospace history and the dawn of supersonic flight.

A landmark design signed by a legend—this XF-92A model represents the bold experimentation that defined the early jet age.
