From the celebrated astrophilatelic collection of Jacques Bracke
An outstanding large-format 11 x 6 inch STS-100 mission summary, flown aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on its historic April 2001 International Space Station assembly mission. This attractive mission-related artifact is hand-signed by the complete seven-member STS-100 crew and personally certified by cosmonaut Yuri Lonchakov with the inscription: “Flown on STS-100 to ISS.”
The complete crew signature set comprises:
Kent V. Rominger — Commander
Jeffrey S. Ashby — Pilot
Chris A. Hadfield — Mission Specialist, Canadian Space Agency
Scott E. Parazynski — Mission Specialist
John L. Phillips — Mission Specialist
Umberto Guidoni — Mission Specialist, European Space Agency / Italy
Yuri V. Lonchakov — Mission Specialist, Roscosmos
Launched on 19 April 2001, STS-100 was one of the key early assembly flights of the International Space Station. Its principal achievement was the delivery, installation, activation, and checkout of Canadarm2, the Canadian-built Space Station Remote Manipulator System. This 17-metre robotic arm became one of the ISS’s most essential operational tools, supporting assembly, cargo handling, maintenance, and spacewalk activities for decades.
The mission also carried the Italian-built Raffaello Multi-Purpose Logistics Module, which delivered equipment, experiments, and supplies to the growing orbital laboratory. During two spacewalks, Chris Hadfield and Scott Parazynski helped install and prepare Canadarm2 for operation. Hadfield’s activity marked the first spacewalk by a Canadian astronaut, adding another major historical milestone to the mission.
The personal certification by Yuri Lonchakov is a particularly valuable feature. Rather than relying solely on later documentation, the flown status is directly affirmed by a participating STS-100 crew member, whose inscription connects the artifact unmistakably to its journey aboard Endeavour to the International Space Station.
Preserved in excellent condition, with complete crew signatures, direct astronaut certification, ISS-flight association, and distinguished Jacques Bracke provenance, this is an exceptional item for collectors of Space Shuttle history, ISS assembly missions, Canadarm2, international astronaut autographs, and flown space memorabilia.
