Soyuz MS-21 and SpaceX Crew-4 Flown ISS Cover — Signed by Seven Spacefarers

Exceptional cover flown aboard the International Space Station, officially postmarked in orbit and hand-signed by the complete crews of Soyuz MS-21 and SpaceX Crew-4.

The cover brings together seven astronauts and cosmonauts representing Roscosmos, NASA and the European Space Agency:

Soyuz MS-21 launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on 18 March 2022 and docked with the International Space Station later that day. The spacecraft carried Artemyev, Matveev and Korsakov to the station’s newly installed Prichal docking module, where they began their long-duration assignment aboard the orbital complex.

Just over a month later, SpaceX Crew-4 launched from Kennedy Space Center aboard the newly named Crew Dragon Freedom. Lindgren, Hines, Cristoforetti and Watkins reached the ISS on 27 April 2022, docking with the space-facing port of the Harmony module after a flight of less than sixteen hours.

The two crews served together during Expedition 67, conducting scientific research, maintaining the station and supporting operations across both the Russian and international segments. Their combined signatures make this cover an impressive record of the continuing multinational cooperation that has sustained the ISS for more than two decades.

Several members of the two crews achieved important milestones during the expedition. Oleg Artemyev served as commander of Expedition 67. Jessica Watkins became the first Black woman assigned to a long-duration International Space Station expedition, while Samantha Cristoforetti later became the first European woman to command the ISS.

With its authentic onboard postmark and complete seven-person signature combination, this is far more than a standard commemorative envelope. It is a genuine flown artifact linking two different crew-transport systems—Russia’s Soyuz and America’s reusable Crew Dragon—and three major international space agencies.
