From the Personal Collection of Apollo 15 Astronaut Alfred Worden

Offered here is a remarkable vintage glossy group photograph, measuring approximately 11 x 8.5 inches, depicting Alfred Worden’s Test Pilot Class 64-C at the United States Air Force Aerospace Research Pilot School.

This historically significant class photograph features several individuals who would later play important roles in American spaceflight history. Among those pictured is a very young Charles “Charlie” Duke, who would go on to become the Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 16 and walk on the Moon; Stuart Roosa, Command Module Pilot of Apollo 14, who orbited the Moon; and Henry “Hank” Hartsfield, later a NASA astronaut and Space Shuttle commander. Also present is NASA test pilot Peter Hoag, along with other members of this distinguished class.

The USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School was one of the most important training grounds for the elite test pilots who helped shape the future of high-speed flight, aerospace research, and the early astronaut corps. Photographs from this environment are highly desirable, particularly when connected to multiple Apollo and Shuttle-era figures.

This photograph was personally presented to Alfred Worden and comes directly from his personal collection. It has been hand-signed by the class members shown, with the exception of Al Worden himself, to whom the photograph was presented.

An exceptional piece of astronaut, test pilot, and aerospace history, connecting the Apollo lunar program, the Space Shuttle era, and the legendary USAF test pilot tradition.

Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity from Alfred Worden’s daughter, confirming its provenance from Worden’s personal collection.
