MIR-Flown ORLAN EVA Glove – From the Personal Collection of Cosmonaut Anatoly Solovyev, Record Holder for Spacewalks

This rare and historic artifact is an ORLAN extravehicular activity (EVA) glove, personally used by Anatoly Solovyev, the legendary Russian cosmonaut who holds the world record for the most spacewalks (16 EVAs) and the greatest cumulative EVA time (over 82 hours).

The glove was worn by Solovyev during his Soyuz TM-26 mission to the MIR Space Station in 1997/1998, a critical expedition tasked with repairing the Spektr module after a collision with a Progress cargo ship. This mission demanded extraordinary EVA work to restore the station’s functionality, cementing Solovyev’s reputation as one of the most accomplished spacewalkers in history.

The glove bears three official MIR onboard postmarks, applied aboard the station itself, and the right glove retains the original pressure table, a crucial technical feature for ensuring its performance in the vacuum of space.

Direct provenance is confirmed by Solovyev himself: in 2015 he personally certified this glove, which was received directly from him during his European tour with fellow cosmonaut and spaceflight pioneer Alexei Leonov.

Key Features:

  • Authentic ORLAN EVA glove used aboard the MIR Space Station

  • Worn by Anatoly Solovyev, world EVA record holder

  • Flown during Soyuz TM-26 (1997), a pivotal mission involving emergency MIR repairs

  • Three official MIR onboard postmarks applied in orbit

  • Right glove retains original pressure table

  • Personally certified by Solovyev in 2015

This glove is a museum-grade artifact, directly tied to both the heroic age of MIR operations and the career of one of space history’s most accomplished explorers.
