Edward White II – handwritten notes – Zarelli COA

Autograph note signed "Ed," written in response to a memo to him on a 6 x 9.5 notebook page, May 19 - White and Chaffee were out for Apollo 1 training.

White answers a note concerning a dispute over a hotel bill, writing: 

1. There was some mix up as they should have been notified that we were staying at the Univ.
2.  I was not aware of a guaranteed reservation basis and cannot accept such as basis due to the uncertainty of our travel. The night of the 13th was spent Oklahoma City…
3.  Iunderstand their position, but also feel that there is a reasonable basis for the misunderstanding."     

Comes with two invoices from the Carolina Inn at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for reservations made by NASA for "Col. E. H. White" and "Lt. R. D. Chaffee," stating that neither arrived at the Inn.
